OggVorbis Translator is a fast and free audio encoder that transforms any WAV, WMA, MP3, and MP2 file into a high-quality Ogg file. Besides, it can extract the audio of your WMV files and save it also as an Ogg audio file. Its drag-and-drop and batch capabilities will allow you to convert any number of audio files easily and quickly.
The program’s interface is simple, light. The program requires no installation. You can add audio files for conversion from three different sources, in four different formats, and in two different ways. Whatever the choices you make - or the mixture of choices - OggVorbis Translator will batch-convert all the files listed in the main panel. The program accepts audio files stored in your system folders, in an audio CD, or in the Internet. For existing audio files and CD tracks, you can drag and drop all or a selection of files directly into the main panel, while for streaming audio you will need to add the different URLs (one at a time) using the dialog provided. These URLs can refer to an Icecast2, a SHOUTcast, or to any given HTTP stream audio file.
The whole process is simple and efficient. The quality of the output Ogg files can be customized easily thanks to the simple slider available in the general settings window (so simple that you have to guess which side of the slider represents what), where you can also key in your preferred sample frequency. The rest of the process is seamlessly performed by OggVorbis Translator, providing you with basic feedback about the progress of execution and a bunch of great-sounding files.
